The price has only gone up $1 since I bought mine in 2017. Yes, it’s just so painless and easy to use this type of tool. There’s a locator right in the center to keep the connector body in place, and it applies an even pressure across the entire connector while crimping. Even though the connectors I use are made of somewhat brittle plastic, I’ve yet to break one in over - it must be at least 300 crimps, possibly way more.
The yellow pads reverse to crimp the male connectors for those that like to make custom extensions/flying bus cables. The males are almost impossible to crimp with pliers without causing damage and even a vise can break them if you’re not careful. At almost $1.50 each, with the male connectors one really should use the right tool.
