As far as im aware you can leave your amazon listing up and post it on RR as well. The only time you have to remove it is if you are doing the kindle unlimited program where they require exclusivity but you already said you removed that.

Just publishing books without a follow is going to be almost impossible to get readers so trying to do the RR route and building up a fan base would help actually get your books out there.
Its up to you if you wanna leave both up cause if you get some followers that want to support you more they might buy a copy but from what you said you are also doing rewrites for the RR version so ehhh up to you.
Also like another reddit mention is scribblehub. You can post on both platforms at the same time so RR and scribblehub. There people who do both at the same time too.
