I think you should go with something more "scholarly". Drawing Down the Moon by Margot Adler is an awesome book written about the different practitioners of pagan traditions within the United States, how they came to their path, their beliefs, what being a pagan means to them, and their personal journeys with their spirituality. It is written by a woman who is currently a NPR contributor and I think an editor for a major news organization and is a Wiccan priestess. Honestly I cannot recommend this book enough.
