I had a huge amount of removed tissue during my hysterectomy, and woke up in recovery with a compression belt on. Organ displacement/movement can be a big deal if you battling with large fibroids. My dr said it’s normal to wear one for weeks or until I feel comfortable. It seems to help me feel ‘stable’, and it made a huge difference with helping my core strength when my abdominal muscles were screaming from discomfort. I’m almost 4 weeks post op and still wear them.
