Would the HyperHDR ambient light project work with a modern day OLED TV like the Sony A80J, which has built-in casting and native apps like Netflix etc?

Curious.

I'm thinking about getting a Sony A80J OLED TV and would like to setup ambient lighting with HyperHDR.

I get the general gist of it and realize that it needs a LED strip, a power supply to power the LED's, and a 4K HDMI Capture Card etc

But, at first glance, it appears that I need to connect a ROKU box or a Chromecast or something to the HDMI Capture card in order for this to work.

Is that correct?

The reason I ask is... the Sony A80J TV has built-in casting and native apps for Netflix etc, so AFAIK, there's no need to get a ROKU or a similar device as everything I need is self contained within the TV.

If everything is self contained, it sounds like the HyperHDR ambient lighting cannot work with the TV.

Is that correct or am I mistaken?

What's the most elegant way to get this TV working with HyperHDR?

I want to be able to connect my laptop via HDMI, or cast stuff from YouTube etc to the TV or connect my media server via HDMI etc and switch between any of them with a remote etc and have all of them easily be able to use HyperHDR.

Cool thanks you so much for the reply.

Could I just shove the male ends of 2 dupont male/female cables into the terminal connector of this power supply? If not, is there a gauge wire I should get? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0852HL336

I plan to buy this kit with the dumpon wires and breadboard just to have it. They were close to the same price for just the wires so why not - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H7V1X7Y

I highly recommend that you use a fully-enclosed 50W power supply like this one:

Alitove, BTF-Lighting, and Mean Well are reputable brands for this type of power supply

Consider something like this and then you won't have to worry about if you want to run them all bright white once in a while.
