As /u/cl0ckwork mentioned, it depends on your usage, and I dont think the batteries should be a big concern. There are often adapters available as well.
I do mostly night portraits and backlighting with the panel as well as reception details shots with LED panels. By far, the most important aspect for me when choosing was finding a panel that had continuously variable white balance. Balancing ambient and artificial is really important to me in a lot of the situations I use the LED (each one I posted here). This is often a mistake that I see videographers make.
I use the Yongnuo YN-300-ii, although now they have the YN-300-iii (which you can actual can control from an app on your phone). I picked up a pair of knock off Sony batteries for less than $20.
