Yay, happy to help!! I gleaned a lot from other people on the sub but found some ideas on my own, too. It's been a lot of fun! I would have saved a good 20-30 bucks just keeping the stickers as they are, but...this is a good way to occupy my time I guess haha.
As far as specifics...I got these chips, this hole puncher for cutting out whatever I end up slapping together in photoshop, and these coin cases. I'm now a little concerned that the chips won't find inside the cases, so I may return the chips and just print out my own design for the backs OR return the cases and just gloss the fronts and use the chips as a backing. But! We shall see in a weekish. :P Have fun makin stuff!!
then open up powerpoint and fill pages with pictures of monsters cropped down to the head and shoulder area, print them out (go to the library if you don't have a color printer), punch out the parts you want and stick them to the buttons
I spent 4 hours last night making amiibo coins. Here are the links to the materials I used for the project.
I used a pair of scissors to cut the specific coins I wanted out of the sheets in order to hole punch them, but I’m not going to link a pair of scissors for sake of simplicity.
For coins, the tags I bought on my last two purchases are no longer listed on Amazon, but they were just a standard NTAG215 PVC coin tag (not a sticker). There are plenty of others selling the same thing on Amazon.
I use a small Kodak photo printer to print the front and back images for two coins on 3" x 3" photo paper, then I punch them out using a Fiskars 1" hole punch. The tag is just sandwiched between the prints (no adhesive) and placed in the coin case.
I also make full-sized cards, again using a standard PVC card, that I print on using an Evolis Zenius card printer.
