I don't think they'll fit... but I do know what does! The Kenwood KFC-835C. They're 3.5" 4 ohm 40 watt speakers. Only $30 on amazon for a pair and a huge upgrade.
You do have to lose the plastic pods/cases for the speakers on the inside, and instead mount them to the inside of the cabinet directly. But two of the four holes that are used to hold the grilles+frames that are already on there line up perfectly. Basically just buy the right nuts and bolts and it looks stock when you're done. Also the speakers are 4 ohm instead of the stock 8 ohm, so they are much louder at mid volume. Normally I'd worry about using 4 ohm instead of 8, but I know some ALUs came with 4 ohm speakers so the amp it comes with seems to be able to handle it fine. And basically any 8 ohm speakers you can find in that size are garbage speakers... (like the ones the ALU comes with).
I'm going to write up a post with pics and everything, but it's really straightforward. I wouldn't go w/ 4" speakers because the holes on the cabinet are exactly 3.5".
You do need to cut and solder the wires that run to the existing speakers, but it's just about the easiest soldering job ever.

A lot of guys recommend these including myself. I put them in a couple of months ago and the sound was noticeably better. You also don't have to turn them up near as loud as the factory speakers.
You'll need a little longer hardware though to mount them and you'll lose the black pods (not that it's really a loss mind you).
