I think it's mostly his own fears, but those fears are certainly based on GB recent teachings. He talks all the time about how things are going to get so bad that they will have to go into hiding. He's convinced that basically local authorities will go door to door to "known jw houses"(as if there's a database of jws being developed by the police), and tear them apart looking for jws, ala nazi germany, and the only way to escape that will be to go on the run.
