I just took a look at Amazon. Most of the "Introductions" spend too much time on technical issues like when it was written for a new Christian. The term "born again" normally means you're part of the Evangelical community, i.e. what I'd call conservative Christianity. From a quick look at Amazon, I'd consider https://www.amazon.com/Story-Retold-Biblical-Theological-Introduction-Testament-ebook/dp/B07V816TGH/ref=sr_1_20?crid=1SX6LBX5QU5R4&keywords=introduction+to+new+testament&qid=1676939334&s=digital-text&sprefix=introduction+to+new+testament%2Cdigital-text%2C138&sr=1-20. This talks a bit about things like authorship, but focuses more on the overall story, which is what a new Christian needs. The authors are from well-known moderately conservative institutions.

If in fact you are interested a the mainline perspective I can find a more appropriate introduction. Perhaps James D G Dunn, "Jesus According to the New Testament." Like the first reference, it concentrates on the story, and looks at how each book or group of books contributes to it. In some ways it's probably a better introduction, but your church might disagree with some things he says.

There's lots of important material not covered by either of these which is important to understanding the New Testament, particularly historical background, but this level seems like the best place to get started.

You'll note that I'm focusing on the New Testament. It's difficult to find something that covers the whole Bible without being too long and complex to be useful. The first book I suggested actually starts with a review of the OT.
