Back in 2016, these are the three items I purchased to do exactly what you are doing.

Worked flawlessly.

Monoprice 50 ft Luxe Series CL3... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0186DNFLI?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

IOGEAR USB 2.0 4-Port 164' USB... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013VP3372?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Cable Matters Cat6 Snagless... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007NZHQDY?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Seems the exact one I bought is no longer on Amazon, but here’s an example. Active HDMI cables are one-way, so they have to be hooked up correctly. The end labeled “source” needs to be connected to your PC, and the end labeled “display” needs to be connected to your link box.

I paired that with a USB over Ethernet extender (this one claims a max of 164ft but worked correctly over 200ft, YMMV, always use high quality cables) and a 200 foot Cat5e cable.

The HDMI and USB extender connect to my PC, the 200 foot HDMI and Ethernet run along the walls of my house downstairs into my basement, where the matching USB extender and HDMI plug into my Link Box. My Link Box is connected to its power plug as usual, and then the 3-in-1 connects as usual between my headset and my link box. In my case, I was using the TPCast Wireless for the HTC Vive which worked great connected at the end as usual. Some people had issues getting the cameras working, but my cameras always worked fine. I later upgraded this setup to use a Vive Pro and then an Index. I never had any major issues with it that weren't solved by simply restarting SteamVR or power cycling things. Eventually I broke that setup down when I moved, but it was really convenient while it lasted :P.

I felt like there were more USB options than HDMI/DP options.. for some reason I had a hard time figuring out how to handle that. But I'm also open to USB options just so I dont mess anything up :)

Update: For USB I plan to use this extender

I used the Monoprice 15 Metre (50 foot) Luxe active HDMI

I tried the OGEAR USB 2.0 4-Port 164' USB Extender Over Cat5/Cat5e/Cat6 Ethernet Cable which worked fine but I preferred an Active HDMI cable as it is a single cable compared to the repeater stations the USB over Ethernet uses.

I chose the following Active USB 2.0 cable from Queensland Cables and Connectors

THIS THREAD has all the info and cables at various lengths that were tested but again this is running the extension from the PC to the breakout box and using the normal HMD cables on the HMD side of the breakout box. So my extension cables run from the PC to the living room 15 metres away where I have the breakout box plugged in and lighthouses mounted. I just roll up the extension cables when I'm not using the Vive and keep my PC in mycomputer room this way.

Vive actually recommend using the original cables on the HMD side of the breakout box which is why we went the way we did.

Extremely detailed thank you so much! I had the original OG vive and just ordered the VP2 so I was trying to plan in advance. I did not realize it was DP only. Thank you :D

I will look into the brands you mentioned and see what I can find.

Edit: Thanks again for your tips :) I was able to cancel the HDMI and purchase a DP that looks good. Fingers crossed!

As far as I know the USB extender seems to work for people. Do you know much about this? Thanks in advance!
