Sanwa recently released a trackball with a similar form factor that might be a cheaper option for you.

For anyone new to trackballs, I would suggest starting with less expensive trackballs to get a feel for what you prefer (unless cost isn't really a concern). Some people like finger-ball trackballs while others prefer thumb-ball models, and there are shape, function, and size variations for each. There's really no way to know which trackball you will like most, unless you try them out.
