This is technically possible, it's how I use my vive pro 2. But I would not recommend it unless you are very comfortable working inside a laptop, and don't mind cutting a hole in the side.

If you laptop has a spare m.2 slot, and the slot is close enough to the side of the laptop, you can use an m.2 to pcie x4 converter kit, cut a slot in the seam, and run it out the side of the laptop. However it's really only viable if you don't intend to move the laptop around since it now has a loose pcie slot out the side.

So while it is possible to do, and actually does work quite well, I would really not recommend it unless you are okay with the possibility of breaking some expensive stuff.
