I cant take a pic at the moment, maybe tomorrow but to describe it, my bumper is grounded, I grounded it to make my aux light install easier, but I still grounded the antenna mount to the chassis to be sure and I know the chassis has good ground because I redid the ground a couple years ago.
anyways this is the mount I have:

I was initially unsure if I had done it correctly due to the lack of experience with CB stuff, so I double checked my work with this diagram.

On top of the mounting stud I have a spring, and then the antenna connected to the spring.
Unfortunately I live in an area where the nearest CB shop is about 1.5 hours away.
But discussing all this reminded me that I have one of those roof top magnetic antennas, so I might give that a whirl when I get the chance to see if I still get crazy SWR. If I do then maybe it is the radio, if not then I know its my setup.
