I have three of these LTE hotspots with Fi data SIMs (my whole family shares them) and it has worked flawlessly in Dubai, India, France, Hong Kong, and Thailand.

It’s a bit pricey but worth the money for the 24hr battery life, Wi-Fi extender (great in hotels and to share one airplane Wi-Fi connection among devices) and it even has an app that lets you configure and manage the device even though you have it safely resting in the back of your backpack.

Edit: note this device only hangs out on T-Mobile 3G in the United States. It doesn’t have the US T-Mobile LTE bands.
