I agree that once you enter into the world of speed ropes, the rope itself typically won't make a huge difference.
I used this rope for about two years until someone dropped a dumbbell on it. I'm not sure what the highest number of dubs I've hit with it is, but I have completed flight simulator using that rope.
Since that rope I have learned that I do prefer handles that are metal, knurled, and have flared ends because it helps out with grip, but that's all personal preference. This is the rope I have now. It definitely gets the job done, I'm very happy with it.
