I feel your pain. Took me 6 months to find my new system.
Tried everything.

• Old school kneeboards with separate ipad on opposite knee.
• Straps to my standard ipad without a paper option (failed miserably when my ipad pen didnt' work)

• Ipad mini to a yoke clamp. Kept loosening in flight.

• This is my setup. 5 stars. Good quality and the best part is the strap can loosen and tighten so you can slide the setup to the side with zero interference from the stick/yoke.
