I am pretty sure the plate will fit, but will verify there is enough clearance.
My plan for the screws is to not use the screws provided with the reinforcement plate. Instead, I will drill all the way through the door, and use a M5 60mm machine screw. On the outside, I will jam a BB ball (4.55mm) into the screw head (4.0mm hex), which will prevent the typical vandal from disassembling the reinforcement plate from the outside too easily.
The challenge will be to drill straight - I will probably use a jig for that.
