Gonna need a little more info on exactly how you're using em to help. The salt used in making brine will rust the metal lids real fast.

Are you modifying the lids at all?

There are some plastic lids that I use and love them. Leak proof and when I want to drill a hole for an airlock, filter, or injection port it's super easy. Also dishwasher proof, as well as autoclavable. (Also grow mushrooms)

That's what I use for most things. They are not okay for canning as they won't form a long term airtight lock.

I usually find them for a few bucks at my grocery store with the canning supplies. They sometimes have a white plastic lid too but those are weaker and leak sometimes.
