My favourite is this Phillips trimmer it has different... Guards? (sorry, I'm not native and I don't know what's the name for this plastic things you put in the blade to avoid cutting the hair too short) and, for me, the guards are the game changer: They came in different lengths so you can decide if you want your hair somewhat trimmed, almost shaved or full shaved.

The battery last forever, it's really small so you can store it anywhere in the bathroom and the fact that you don't have to deal with cables or really big equipment is awesome.

It looks like Phillips has paid me for write this (they didn't) but I bought it almost 2 years ago and I really can't say anything negative about it. Even if the blade goes dull (or if you are like me and drop the blade in the fucking WC) Amazon also sell blade replacements that work like a charm. Oh, and you can de-attach the blade if you want to clean it better.

The biggest guard leaves the hair pretty long -in my standards- but I don't know if that will be what you are looking for. This same brand and model -Phillips Norelco- has different types of devices so maybe one of them can give the result you are looking for.
