I think you're right, because it costs me like $9 for the USB cable and like $9 for the cigarette car charger part. A whole new dash cam I can get on sale for around $20. But just out of curiosity, assuming I go with this cable: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078LZP132/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_7?smid=A32CCO9JZK8JJE&psc=1, do I need to cut the existing cable where it is attached to the car charger (no way to disconnect it) and just use the existing USB input on the cigarette car charger?

I also found one on eBay which the cable is attached to the car charger, just like my current cable.
