I'm a fan of this mat.

Most of the cheap ones on amazon are made in China and have had issueswith bed bugs being infested in them. The mat I linked above is closed cell foam so its anti-microbial, doesn't let anything in, and can be washed. It is bigger than a cushion but offers a ton of support for your joints.
