Just a controller tip: it is absolutely viable to use xbox 360 controllers on PC games; most games in the last few years "just work" out of the box, and Windows will happily recognize a wired xbox 360 controller. If you want to use your wireless xbox 360 controllers with the PC, you need a USB wireless receiver, which used to be available by itself but isn't anymore; to get one, you can either buy a "xbox controller for pc" - http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Xbox-Wireless-Controller-Windows/dp/B004QRKWKQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1416305410&sr=8-1&keywords=xbox+controller+pc+wireless - which comes with the receiver - or, there are a bunch of knockoff receivers on amazon and ebay. remember that the wireless controller itself is exactly the same for "xbox" or "pc" - the only difference is the receiver.

Sounds like you got a knock off. There was a guy here that ordered from the same page and got an official receiver. I guess it was a luck of the draw. Only the official receiver works with the Mac driver. Anyways, you can either use it on a Windows or return it and buy an official one. I bought mine here. It's only expensive because it comes with another controller. If you have a Microcenter, I've seen them there separate from the controller for a lower price.

Just FYI for Canadians, make sure you're viewing Amazon.com specifically. Nothing from Amazon.ca is eligible. I checked for an Xbox Wireless Windows Controller on both .com and .ca... the one on .ca wasn't eligible, but the one on .com is!

I've always played with a basic wireless Xbox 360 controller with a USB dongle.
Haven't had any issues with it.

I'm so sorry if this is a stupid question, please forgive my ignorance. Is there a wireless version? I know he mentioned "xbox controller" and "wireless" in the same sentence. Can xbox controllers be synced with PCs?

I think this may be it, but I just want to be 100% sure I'm getting the right thing as I have no idea what I'm doing.
