I have to ask this: Why? Other than capturing the video for use in editing / live streaming, there is no reason to use a capture card for the purpose of displaying your console's video. If you want to use a computer monitor as opposed to a TV, I think a simple HDMI cable from your console to your monitor should suffice.
As for capturing video for lets plays / live streams: if you want to capture gameplay from your console and be able to play by watching it on your capture PC in real time with no lag, your best bet is to get an internal capture card. This is an actual card that sits in one of your computers open expansion ports, like PCI or PCIE. Something like the Elgato HD 60 Pro should work well for that purpose. I purchased one of these for use in my dual PC streaming setup, to remove any burden of streaming from my gaming PC. The latency with an internal card is so minimal that it isn't noticeable.
So something interesting happened, I got another alert from camelcamelcamel about the Elgato price, and this time it's the same $122 price, but a different Chinese seller (zhaogaisheng). Here's the item link:
And then I checked, and the seller who I bought from (shilijun) has had his Elgato listing taken down, and in fact his whole storefront is now empty. I think I'm going to try messaging shilijun, but a response is probably wishful thinking.
I did get an email from Amazon saying that my item had shipped, and in fact I got a tracking number as well, in the format of LI#########US, where the #'s are numbers (9 numbers in total). On Amazon, it says the carrier is USPS, but when I put the number in, I don't get any results. The same thing when I tried putting it in on Chinese tracking sites.
Yes I do. Elgato Game Capture HD60 Pro, stream and record in 1080p60, superior low latency technology, H.264 hardware encoding, PCIe https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014MQIVPS/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_Rs.-vbXSK9E6Y
