I have picked B&W M1 speakers out of FB Marketplace.

Onkyo NR6050 from Costco

currently using Yamaha FSW050 which isnt much to talk about. Will keep it for its low profile and second sub on 15x20 living room.

Now I am in market for a subwoofer. I am not a kid or going after rattling walls, but do i like clarity and low depth notes. Most my music are soft/Jazz/classicals. Wife dont want to spend more (just got the house).

So far through online reads got below, but I would welcome any suggestions for a good sub under/at the range of $500.

  1. SB1000 for 399
  2. Dayton 1200 for 179

We mostly watch movies once a week-about 5 hours on TV movie watching, some time on music at low volume (wife likes to hear while work) and most times TV is taken by 3 yo for cartoons (tv speakers).

Note: I never owned a proper subwoofer pr a 5.1 before this. Once i build the basement in new house, the HT setup will have projector and I will move the 7.2 setup, so until then 5.2 will stay with low volume in the living area.

So, something like this for the sub would be better?

Yeah, I didn't want them to be too big since desk space would be an issue. Thanks!
