I know I could have gotten it cheaper, but decided for this complex assembly that I wanted it direct from Creality's store on Amazon (just personal preference).
No, it didn't fit on the short shaft and my original stepper motor had the gear press fit on. See my other post. It seems that Creality changed the design of the stepper motor and gear at some point. I ordered a new stepper motor, rather than electing to attempt removal of the gear.

PSA: When changing the gear or the motor, ensure you recalculate your E-Steps.
While it was a ~$40 upgrade between the motor and gear assembly (Dual gear assembly was marked down on Amazon to ~$18 when I bought it), I am very pleased with it.
