Your in luck bc I have been using the same board and mining since 2017 on it. You name it I've likely seen it.. I slowly worked my way up to 12 rx 470 to 580s 4 and 8gb msi gaming x variants all looking the same mostly but all very different.. I learned to mod my vbios and how to take care of my rig. To maintain and troubleshoot and how to repair everything that could have and did go wrong with the exception that I took care of my hardware in a manner which all of my GPUs still work. 7 of them being 8gb cards are still mining 30 to 33.8mh/s and I don't remember the last time it crashed its been that long.. Though it was a very frustrating and long road to get there. I'm going to do you a big favor. This will keep your uptime and maintenance so solid even if your gpu is dead in 3 months you'll still be ahead of where you would be with you can recover the gpu and keep going in the direction you are. You don't have to take my advice, but I will help you if your willing to learn, willing to research some things if needed, see I had help learning to mod bios but only one buddy locally who also mined and a total computer genius, yet somehow scared of Linux for mining as setting up Linux for mining is not easy from scratch and I have done It before now but I found a much better way.. Here's what you are going to need to figure out as I don't have the time to walk you through this part if you don't know how but I will share with you how exactly I run my rigs and many people are going to say use hive OS. There is nothing wrong with Hive os and if you can't figure out how to come up with 2$ a month payed with LTC, ZEC OR BTC, or don't want to drop 200$ minimum Ethereum to start, (btc will cost 10$ minimum, litecoin and zcash have a 1$ minimum), think the first 30 days are free, either way 2$ a month is worth it.

Say good bye to Windows. For mining.. unless you enjoy huge page files, bsod. Driver and os updates constantly and random lots of time when it just won't work then you must ditch windows on your rig.. The pros do not use windows and anyone new definitely should not be either..

I use SMOS. simplemining.net browse there and check it out.. I've tried probably all mining OS and hiveos is a great alternative but SMOS is simply 👌 where it's at.. So I replaced windows after 3 years over 15 full windows fresh installs, probably 2 months of downtime. Amd an average of 10 hours a month over time and averaged out of maintenance 3 worn ssds I threw that and the ssd it was on in the 🗑 no bs.. I flashed SMOS to a good 16gb USB 3.0 flash drive using etcher, Rufus can also do it but it's all on the site super easy. You need a keyboard and monitor long enough to enter your email and password one time then disconnect the keyboard monitor and mouse as you now just use the web GUI or your phone to setup and monitor your rig!

If you haven't done so yet, buy a 6 pack of brand new risers with cables and USB to pci adapters for spares and don't get the cheap 3 capacitor ones and often the good ones will have a molex and sata power inputs but DO NOT USE THEM. USE THE 6 PIN Power only... here's the optimal risers for u this brand has more cost friendly ones that will work also VER013 Pro PCIe Riser,PCI-E 1X to 16X Riser Card Ethereum ETH Bitcoin Mining Devices, Digital Cryptocurrency Mining Rig https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09QSKQ6VX/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_ZCG58MH1Q7J53RYCRTZE?psc=1

With that board it's very important to have your risers and gpus running off the same power source.. i.e. most rigs 8 GPU ++ require 2 or more PSU, regardless of the configuration say GPU1 runs off and if using PCI x16 slot it should be powered by same PSU that runs your 24pin ATX and your EPS (cpu) as well as the (2) 4 pin (molex) power connectors, and therefore that GPU needs its Riser to be Powered by the same PSU. Any GPUs running off your extra PSU needs to have its Riser also powered by the extra PSU not mixed and matched.. You probably already know that and technically yes I have had it work with 2 identical ATX PSUs mixed up but for stability it's very important to follow that...

Also, make sure you have absolute minimum of 15% headroom on your PSU (25% or more is ideal).

The gold pins which make contact on the output of your GPU need to be wiped clean with isopropyl alcohol if they have been touched by hands (it happens), but even clean hands will leave an oily often unseen spot on these pins and as with everything else I'm suggesting here I have personally seen cause a GPU to crash, fail, not be recognized, or recognized with errors.

Do nor trust windows from your rig to tell you if your GPU is okay in device manager.. if you must use windows to check it, put the GPU in another separate windows machine and check ihere as windows corruption is a common thing with mining like running sfc/scannow from win key + r "run" command, weather powershell or command prompt.

Okay so this board has a GPU status display during POST, it's not uncommon to see one not show up sometimes or show up red occasionally, this is usually a Riser or USB cable causing it OR the next issue that is an easy fix... If a gpu is plugged into a port and that pci slot does not light up yellow go ahead and shut it off while you can as it won't be seen in any os if the bios does not see it, period.

In your BIOS under your PCI subsystem settings I believe but where it asks for a PCI speed for each slot, make sure they are set to PCI Gen 2 if AUTO doesn't work. I know these are PCI Gen 4 cards and there is no Gen 4 option on a 200 series board, if they are set to PCI Gen 3, you will run out of PCI lanes which is why I don't even use the x16 slot until I am out of slots but still it should be fine ive used it esp with windows for initial setup but hopefully you won't have this issue bc you will be using a live USB based os.

SMOS like other mining OSs are meant to do one thing, mine, so there are no sound drivers no print services, nothing extra, you don't even need to install video drivers they are there and up to date out of the box.. 9 out of 10 times if your GPU has an issue, the OS (SMOS) will likely tell you and usually will even tell you if there is a bad Riser or cable.. if your gpu is salvageable using a mining OS IS going to be the easiest way to see... My rigs on SMOS boot up in 15 seconds or less from a USB 3.0 drive and shut down even faster.. plus if one should go it's alot cheaper than buying s new ssd.. HIVEOS and other mining OSS I've only run off SSDs. SMOS seems to run just as stable and fast off a USB 3.0 as it does off a Samsung 850 pro or other top end sata SSD.

I know thats a lot of info to sponge but that's whst I've got and hopefully it helps.. Feel free to ask me anything else or if you don't understand any part of that I don't mind helping ...

Please let me/us know if your problem was solved! Cheers and best luck to you!!
