Yeah, I did this a few weeks ago. Firstly, make sure the z-height on your HDD is 7mm and not 9.5mm or it'll be too fat for this laptop. You MIGHT wanna use an antistatic device of some kind to avoid ESD (likelihood is you'll be fine unless you've been running around on carpet in woolly socks) 1)Open up the laptop (don't mix up the screws, the case screws are different sizes). 2) Unscrew the mounting bracket from it's place which you can see on the left of this image: http://imgur.com/tkg1xDl (empty silver bay, image courtesy of tjoryk) Mind the cables on the left, just tuck them back in when you're done. 3) Screw the hdd into place with the drive facing such that the side not covered by the bracket will be visible to you when you plug it into the connection on the motherboard (i.e. the same way the bracket sits in there shipped). I used these mounting screws if you don't have any: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A6JCR0G I guess not 100% necessary but I thought it better to be safe. 4) Slip it back in and screw the mounting bracket back. 5) Close up the laptop making sure all the clips are firmly in place and screw it back together. 6) Boot up and go into disk managemnt (on the desktop, right click in the lower left hand corner of the screen) 7) Your drive should be there, right click on it and hit format; you shouldn't need to change any of the option boxes, go ahead and hit format again) 8) Done :) Please say if there's something I made unclear
