Regarding hemorrhoids, don't buy something with hydrocortisone or any other steroid. Prolonged use of steroids on skin can thin the skin, so avoid that! Just get the hemorrhoid products with pain relievers like benzocaine or lidocaine. If you're in the USA, there will be an Active Ingredients box, and in that box is where you find the words benzocaine or lidocaine. Look for something with at least 10%. SOme products are like 2-5% and why waste your time, just get a higher concentration and use less at home, I say.
My drug store also had a 100% aloe gel with lidocaine or benzocaine in it, forget which, meant for burns and sunburn relief.
Boil Ease is in most stores in my community, it's a squeeze tube of thick lotion/ointment, it's mean to take pain away from large boils, and is basically just a moisturizer with topical pain reliever in it. It contains a higher % of pain killer than other products I have found, like 20%. That shit is powerful enough to leave my hand feeling tingling and kinda numb after applying it.
Someone else in this sub uses this, I forget who. I haven't tried it, but they liked it (but notice it's only 5% lidocaine, so you can probably find a bigger number than that. $16 for 5% lidocaine is kidna expensive compared to 20% lidocaine Boil Ease for $10. This product labeled for PE has almost 10% for under $20.
Bottom line, the only thing that differentiates them is HOW MUCH active ingredient is inside all the filler ingredients. So, buy smart, I say.
