I use a removable “paper-like” screen protector from Uogic, but it doesn’t seem to be in their Amazon page so this is a similar one
I don’t always prefer having the Matte screen protector on, so I like the option of having them be removable. I probably stick and unstick it once or twice a week, and I haven’t had any problems with adhesion so far (after around 2-3 months of use). Writing experience with the Uogic is pretty decent, and it doesn’t retain any fingerprints.
This is my first time using a matte or paper-like screen protector so I’m not sure how it feels compared to the Paperlike brand, but any scratches that appear on screen from writing or other objects can be rubbed or wiped off easily. Unfortunately one of the reviews from the Amazon listing (TiMOVO brand) says otherwise, so if you’re gonna pick that one, maybe do so with caution, or just look for a similar product if you don’t want to risk it. Unfortunately I got mine off Uogic’s store based in my country, not from Amazon.
Edit: if you don’t plan on removing your screen protector anyway, MoKo has fairly decent reviews and they have other Surface accessories too.
this one on Amazon, not great, but does the job. Does show pen scratches (on protector) after a while. I am not sure about the paper like feel, but better than writing on the screen and i appreciate the fact that it removes a little bit of the glossiness of the screen.
