I have painted the plastics on 3 xterra's now and have another lined up next week to do. This is the best stuff hands down, It is litterally designed for bumper plastics to be flexible and not fade in the elements (It even has a picture of an xterra on the can itself) One of the x's I did about 2 years ago now still looks great! as far as prepping, DAWN DISH SOAP! its a great de-greaser I usually use a mild scotch brite pad as well while washing with the dish soap. Then let it dry completely and it's ready for paint no primer required with this stuff. Make sure you wear gloves after you de-grease everything so you don't get anything on the plastics after. I usually go for 4-5 light coats. I remove as much as possible (bumpers, Rain tray, wiper blades, front grill) The rest I just tape off as best as possible on the car including the plastic on the roof rack. It works like a champ I usually go through 4-6 cans per xterra. This is the best stuff you can use to DIY in my opinion.
