GX16 are fine, but they are expensive and for folks without good soldering skills, they might represent a source of future problems in their systems.

I prefer these now for non-industrial/hobby usage: 3.5mm Pitch 4 Pin Way Straight Screw Terminal Block Pluggable Connector

You can find these on Ali or Ebay in lots of 100 to drive down the price even more. You can get them with different pin counts for whatever your are connecting. They also come in a version with a built-in screw-plate to directly mount on the outside of a controller case.

I like using a 5-pin versions for 4 conductor cables with shields, so that I can terminate the shield into the 5th pin and then route that to the ground inside the control box.

GX16 will look more professional, but these are a fraction of the price and are easy to assemble and use. They will definitely handle the zero to five times that I've normally unplugged cables after the machine is up and running.

That being said, for a lot of hobby machines, a pluggable connector is probably not needed at all. Instead some cable glands to get your cables out of the controller box is the cheapest and most reliable solution. This would be my default unless the machine is so large that you know it will be disassembled to be moved.
