For a woman in her last 60s / early 70s.
Basically she wants to be able to take relatively low-light photos at Christmas without noise on the final image and during the non-holiday season she would like to be able to sit on the porch or at the window and take photos of birds at her feeder (20 feet away) or deer & turkey in the woods (50-100 feet away).
I've looked at some of the sites on the wiki and it seems like the Canon PowerShot SX620 HS, Canon Elph 360 HS, and Nikon Coolpix S7000 are all solid options. I'm looking to see if anyone with more knowledge and direct experience than I can say "oh yeah, you want <model X> because it will excel at what grandma is looking for!" Otherwise I'm going to get the least expensive of the three mentioned and probably buy refurbished direct from Canon/Nikon's wesbite.
Thanks all!
