Honestly, I did not focus much of my research on glutathione. Instead focusing more on precursors like NAC. I'll add SALG to my list of stuff to research. There's also a version of cystine called GCG - gamma-glutamylcysteine. Pretty insane effects - but it is hard to get a hold of because of the company that made it has exclusive patents on it. Here's a summary I have so far:

  • γ-Glutamylcysteine (GGC) is a dipeptide and precursor of GSH. Unlike GSH, supplemental GGC can be taken up into cells/tissues and directly used as a substrate for GSH synthesis
  • Oral γ-GC is a non-toxic form of cysteine that can be directly taken up by cells and transiently increase lymphocyte GSH above homeostatic levels. - A single 2 g dose of γ-GC increased lymphocyte GSH content above basal levels (53 ± 47%, p < 0.01, n=14) within 90 min of administration - maximum GSH concentrations (Cmax) that were near two (2 g γ-GC) to three (4 g γ-GC) fold basal levels
  • Due to the enzymatic degradation of ingested GSH within the intestine by γ-glutamyl- transferase, supplementation with γ-glutamylcysteine (γ-GC) can enhance tissue GSH and represent an alternative to NAC
  • the ethyl ester of γ-GC is hydrophobic enough to deliver the dipeptide to the brain and increase GSH levels in the CNS
  • The major dietary protein source known to contain significant levels of γ-GC is the whey fraction of bovine milk
  1. I contacted multiple companies to try to get liposomal and/or phytosomal DHM produced. I also did the same for beta-cyclodextrin complex. No luck so far. I managed to find some producers of the Betacyclodextrin DHM complex on alibaba - but there weren't enough reviews for me to pull the trigger on. The one company I did actually end up buying from sent bunk product. Pretty big bummer for that so far. I am willing to contract a manufacturer to create this variation, but haven't found any luck here either.

  1. Hmmmm this is a strange one. I can google 'cyclosome' and two companies come up - nature's essentials and hi-tech labs. Hi-tech labs owns the trademark registry for 'cyclosome delivery' - https://tmsearch.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=4810:qyl047.2.1

What's odd is that I can't find any research or patents surrounding this 'cyclosome technology'. One company that I have used for phytosome complexes is Indena. They have quite a few patents for this technology, and they are actually easy to find. Indena sources to companies like Botany and thorne

Also, I can't find the trademark for nature's essentials. I have to assume that they are using hi-tech's products and repackaging it. They may have an agreement to not use the trademarks of hi-tech. Honestly, this is a bit odd. I emailed both companies to see if I can get any answers.

Here's an excerpt from the cyclosome page from hi-tech :

"Researchers at Hi-Tech recently developed this Cyclosome™ proprietary process. This one-of-a-kind technology involves the entrapment of hydrophobic compounds in the form of water-soluble cyclodextrin (CD) complex in liposomes. This breakthrough technology has been investigated as a new strategy to combine the advantages of our Cyclosome™ Technology. This novel process changes all of that in Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals complete Wellness Line of daily use products."

Compare to Nature's Essentials:

"The R&D Team at Nature’s Essentials™ recently developed a proprietary and breakthrough delivery process called Cyclosome™ Technology. This one-of-a-kind technology encompasses naturally derived active ingredients into a liposome hydrophilic complex that creates a vortex of enhanced solubility and optimum bioavailability. This procedure has been investigated as a new strategy to combine the advantages of CDs and liposomes into one system called a Cyclosome™. This delivery method makes our products multiple times more bioavailable than other vitamins on the market today."

- yeee I think they are related. Don't know anything about either company though. Hi-tech has been around for a while, but the lack of patent is a bit sketchy.

  1. Missed 'nopal cactus powder' but will check into it for the next update.
