I run a 5000btu window unit in mine, either through shore power or a 2000w inverter generator. (Texas) It'll work for the summer but on really, really hot days you'll still feel some heat. However, it will work and keep everything you own from melting and being damaged. They are both inexpensive and easily replaced. Make sure to get a decent, outdoor rated extension cord.
