i hope to god its not my router acting funny because i spent good money on it. also i have been looking into witcher, is it any good?
Sadly no, the best thing you can do to improve your Wi-Fi experience here is making sure you have a good router, not the one GCI gave you.
Figure out how much you are willing to spend and then buy the router at your price point:

The AX88U is considered one of their best, most stable, current routers with WiFi-6. It is fully supported by the new 386.x Merlin firmware. It's wall mountable too, so that no one can pile stuff on top of it.
It also has 8 gigabit ports and sports a 1.8GHz quad-core processor. I think the total router bandwidth is 6Gbps, but can't find the spec now. You can even aggregate 2 WAN connections to double the max speed to 2Gbps, but you have to sacrifice one of the 8 LAN ports. Also, not sure what sort of modem setup that would require, but sounds interesting if I were to ever get fiber internet.
If you're wanting 10Gbps total router bandwidth WAN+LAN, then you'd be looking at the AX11000 for almost double the price and it does not support Merlin. In fact, I think the AX88U is the fastest one that currently supports Merlin. They may eventually add some of the faster/newer ones, but I read that due to chipsets being so different, it may not happen anytime soon, if at all.
