Here’s my like/dislike items for my recovery:

I bought the silicone strips but my incisions were kind of recessed from the surrounding tissue so didn’t work for me. And expensive too!

Bought Bio-Oil and Mederma but am scent sensitive and both were too strong for me. Both on the expensive side too. Waste. I ended up using Vitamin E oil which had a very faint scent but mostly odor free. My friends skate and hike and highly recommended the E oil. My friend who’s a doctor did too. I called it my expensive EVOO breast oil 😂. I also used Vaseline and Aquaphor for a time before getting the E oil. Using a petroleum product (Vaseline) on my chest just didn’t sit well with me but it is something that gets recommended too.

Shower wipes are great to have on hand. I didn’t like the rinseless waterless shampoo that I bought however. A shower chair and handheld shower head turned out to be very useful and made showering easier.

Used my mastectomy pillow, and car seat belt one. Went home in a top with drain pockets but never wore again. Same for zippered sport bra— not comfortable. Shower drain bag was a waste and ended up preferring a lanyard to use.

I use foam inserts for my bras all the time when not braless (really like not wearing a bra now).

Only time I used a cold pack was after my needle core biopsies. Be careful not to damage your blood flow.

Needed to buy button down pjs. Splurged on super nice soft ones. Still love wearing.
