Just to give you a more nuanced answer, since I went down this rabbit hole myself. The stock computer and retrofit kits that are compatible with the GSD (at least the gen 2 one) are:

Computer Charging voltage from USB Micro-A Port Bosch eBike Lock Compatible Companion Phone App Upgrade Cost (new)
Purion None, does not provide charging current. Only for diagnostics No None $0
Intuvia 500mA (2.5w) Yes None ~ $180 on Amazon
SmartphoneHub 1.5a (7.5w) No Bosch Cobi.Bike (doesnt seem to be actively developed) $120 at clever cycles at the moment
Kiox 1a (5w) Yes Bosch eBike Connect (actually pretty decent) ~ $260
Nyon None! The most expensive computer they have will _not_ charge your phone Yes Bosch eBike connect (same as kiox) ~ $310

For me, the kiox hit the sweet spot for the following reasons:

  • Pretty decent charging current, at least enough to keep my phone fully charged while using it for navigation
  • Uses a seemingly actively developed phone app that automatically syncs my rides to services like strava
  • Tracks and displays my wattage which I think is really nice, has made me use the bike without assist more just to see how much wattage I can crank out
  • Display and controls are separate, so I can keep the display outside my bar mitts while the controls are inside where my hands are nice and warm
  • I found a full retrofit kit on eBay for $100

Another note is that the port is a USB Micro-A (technically Micro AB), which means Micro-B cables will plug into it. I bought a cheap 1ft Micro-B to Lightning cable which works great.

Yeah… I had problems with my OTG Cable not working too. I didn’t like that it was two cables put together to make one either; so I just ordered a new one off Amazon [about 4 months ago now] and I haven’t had a problem since.

Also, IDK if you know this but you can fly the Spark without any OTG Cable. It’s over the Controller’s WiFi that’ll connect directly with your phone. You’ll have to Google how to do it, cause I wouldn’t be able to explain it clear enough. Lol It is important to note that you won’t get quiet as good of signal at distance and it may cut in & out at times; but if you’re out in the country (somewhere with little to zero electrical interference) then it does fine on the WiFi. I wanted to share that at least, so you can still fly while you get a new OTG Cable.

Here’s the Cable I got off of Amazon for iPhone:

Here’s one for Android that seems to have good reviews as well:
