Your prices are a little off. You can get ram and an ssd for about ~~ $65~~ total if you look around

Here's the ram on ebay for $25 (I not sure if the ram you listed will even run at 1866 in the laptop, i could be wrong though)

and here's a 1tb ssd for $37.

That's $62 for a heck of a budget upgrade.

This is perfect! Thank you so much!!

So you have this SSD and then this enclosure, right?

So theoretically if I wanted more space I could go with this 1TB SSD?

1TB SSD drives are now sub 150 bucks, buy one of those, use that as your primary internal drive, will speed up games and operating system.

Use HDD USB as extra storage, manually move older games rarely played to that.

$58 for 2TB HDD USB or 4TB for $89.

$109 for 1TB SSD.

Thanks for the links! Makes it really helpful and simple.

And yeah, I would never pay for something to make this game better, but I figured kill two birds with one stone since my 500 gb are full on the actual console and getting just an HD would save money but not improve performance.

I’m going with that enclosure but this SSD. I don’t ever want to even think about memory again, and I feel like I’ll be using this console for a few years still (especially since my Skyrim is on it).

Yes, the program will tell you which Crucial products will fit.

You can then buy the same kind of product from any brand.

A 2.5" SATA SSD will fit.

But if an M.2 NVMe (also known as PCIe) SSD will fit - those are better, faster, and cost about the same.

For a SATA SSD, I would probably go with a Team AX2: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CK7T9FG

At the moment it's one of the cheapest models, without skimping on quality.

They have a 512GB version for $24.50, and a 1TB version for $43.

The Silicon Power A55 tends to always be a good deal, but isn't always the best deal. It's also a very decent SSD. Currently it's $25 and $45 respectively: * https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07997QV4Z * https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07B4G19X3

A number of our clients have started using a M.2 NGFF SATA SSD adapter double-sided taped at the end or creating a mounting solution

M.2 NGFF to SATA Adapter Card

Which takes up approximately half the surface area with less restrictions airflow. It also provides the advantage of cooling the SSD better. At that point, they just choose

Silicon Power 1TB A55 M.2 SSD SATA III Internal Solid State Drive 2280 SU001TBSS3A55M28AB

Other clients have just started shucking a drive altogether, and creating a mounting solution for the card.

Silicon Power 1TB SSD 3D NAND A55 SLC Cache Performance Boost SATA III 2.5" 7mm (0.28") (SP001TBSS3A55S25) or Silicon Power 2TB SSD 3D NAND A55 SLC Cache Performance Boost SATA III 2.5" 7mm (0.28") (SP002TBSS3A55S25)

Either direction, they have found the airflow is noticeably different.
