Theres no display port on the laptop so I doubt you could get it to work. Personally I would go with this since it has a mini display port so in theory it should work. Also I've had better luck with Acer compared to MSI personally.

Damn it’s so unfortunate that you’re posting this right after the best days to buy one, the deals on gaming laptops this Black Friday were amazing. Agree with everything said 16 GB RAM better card etc. the laptop below is ideal for what you need and quality as well. You’re lucky they still have the 900 dollar version but also if your budget let’s you go slightly higher you can look for other versions of the Helios 300, cleaner look more RGB all that but as far as work goes this is enough at this price.

A variation of this one the 2019 as opposed to the 2018 model I think was 900 on Black Friday but it’s still 1087 as opposed to 1200 today. It’s virtually identical but the beefed up graphics card helps and it looks cleaner but that’s up to you and your budget. Link
