I have a casio g-shock MTG-900, solar powered (lasts for a year in total darkness though), that has gone through hell and back and still works.
I think I've had it for almost 10 years now, it now looks beat to shit but keeps working.
I'm pretty tired of it and do my best to destroy it (so I have an excuse to get a new one) but it won't die.
Paid 70 euros for it.
Has dual time, DCF77/MSF/WWVB radio time sync, hourly beep, 4 alarms, "time memo" (press button and it logs the time) nice illumination, water resistant to 20 bar. No countdown timer though.
aaand the amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/Casio-MTG900DA-8V-G-Shock-Atomic-Tough/dp/B00134L8XU (apparently it costs more now than when I bought it way back. but you might be able to find it somewhere under 100$)
edit: this one is cheaper and I think it has the same features: http://www.amazon.com/Casio-GW530A-1V-G-Shock-Atomic-Tough/dp/B000WU88DE/ref=sr_1_5?s=watches&ie=UTF8&qid=1325019151&sr=1-5
