It doesnt seem like a lot of people here understand what youre trying to accomplish. I will say that I understand your main concern is trying to stay near the $100 mark. I would recommend getting the Turtle Beach X42's http://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Wireless-Surround-Headset-Xbox-360/dp/B006W41W3M/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1380304054&sr=1-1&keywords=Turtle+Beach+x42
I have both the X42's and Astro A40's, the A40's produce slightly better sound but the X42's are fully wireless, are a lot more comfortable if youre playing 4 hours plus (the astros start to hurt my ears after about 3-4 hours), and the biggest difference between the X42's and the XP300's that you have listed are the X42's have surround sound processing which actually helps you determine where sounds are coming from in the game and pinpointing where people are. Hope this helps
