I tried building the sand carrying system myself but it was too much work getting to the right measurements of all the pipes so I ordered a ready made kit from Amazon. It helped a lot. You would still need to purchase a fountain pump separately to attach to the kit. Other than that, just use some lava rocks to create the hill + use a pond sealer to fill in the gaps between rocks.
