If you get Yeasu on Amazon, make sure it's from one of the well known dealers, there's a lot of fake Yeasu gear running around one ebay and Amazon.
If the reseller is HamRadioOutlet, Gigaparts, then you are fine, although both upcharge on Amazon over their normal sites to cover the Amazon fees (which are about 20%).
Margin on radio is about 5%, so anyone selling below the current advertised prices out there usually there's a reason. (BStock, Grey Market, or plain fake).
Gigaparts on Amazon has the FTM-6000 for $299: (Dual Band, remote faceplate)
And the FT-2980: (2M, but a tank). For $219. (These are $189 at Gigaparts.com and HRO if you go direct on their sites).
