Not an expert in laptops but this might do it here.
You can't directly compare US models sold in the EU. For example this laptop for sale at amazon (US): $549,99 ext vat = $659.99 inc 20% vat = ~€600. It is also for sale on amazon de: €746,-. Nearly €150 more expensive.
However, a similar laptop sells for €629,- on amazon de.

Here is a copy of the original post: I'm needing a new laptop for work (computer modeling/animation among other freelance jobs) and the one that works for the task is $600. I currently have a second job at Sears but it will take around a month and a half to come up with that cash and that time is money wasted. I can show proof of employment if needed. The sooner I am able to get the new computer, the sooner I can start working again. I lose clients the longer I wait as well. I'm looking to get https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-NVIDIA-Windows-E5-575G-53VG/dp/B01DT4A2R4?ie=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0 so it would be ok if you just order the item to my address instead of sending the money. It's $550 but there's $38 tax. So even if you just order the item for me and it comes out to less than $600, I'll still be willing to pay back $700.

I wasn't looking for laptop advise, I was looking for retailer advise.
But, I suppose I'll play along because I'm tech illiterate compared to all of you. The laptops I have picked are this one and this one.
I've been staying away from Toshiba honestly. I'm on my 2nd Toshiba in 5 years, my mother is on her 2nd in 3 years, and my father has 5 dead Toshibas chilling at his office. The hinge on mine broke right after my warranty ended and Toshiba customer service has been nothing but a bag of dicks to me.
My budget doesn't matter, this is a gift. But I want to get a good deal. The person I'm buying for is a consol gamer. I'd buy a desktop for a gaming computer, not a laptop.
