You are going to have to go android. I will refrain from commenting on apple. I have a Pi 400 but just isn't as good as a dedicated android streimer.
I use the Nvidia Shield, Logitech K830 keyboard. I have kingston SSD in a 2.5" sata external case for cheap storage since had it available. But you want cheep grab a 4k amazon stick or Mi box. You can use an OTG dongle with ethernet USB splitter and have ethernet, usb for storage, keyboard etcetera.

Powered is what I used.
I really like this OTG one because it's small and just plugs in the back without being a cable, just make sure you pick the one going to the correct direction, else you can't plug in a memory stick anymore because the hdmi cable would be in the way:
If you really want an OTG cable get this:
Then just get a good usb-stick, NOT and SD card:
^I like this one because it's small and in combination with the OTG I mentioned first wont stick out further on the side of the console.
Size?
Depends on what you want to put on there. If you stick to 8/16-Bit games 32 or 64 GB should be more than enough.
^This should be more than enough for the stuff you are planning to put on there.
If you are planning on also putting PSX games or so on there go for at least 128 GB.
But hey this is just my opinion, you are free to mix and match.
Also you should have zero C8 errors if you don't put too many games in one (sub)folder.
We are left with about 5 gig after amazon OS and additional bloat. They just want you to live in their sphere and use the apps provided that they have partnered with. They permit sideloading knowing it is a selling point but they do not care that you run out of space adding your APK's.
You can easily add additional storage with an OTG cable. Before I gave mine to family I had them all set up with an OTG
But I used this style
I used powerd usb 3.0 hub with ethernet. I prefer future proof and overkill even if the micro usb part isn't as fast on the stick. I did not like the UGREEN I posted below because the blue led was super bright, good quality. I can't find the link to the ones I ended up using that did not have a light. But you can get a cheaper one that isn't powered also.
This way you have USB for storage, keyboard, and ethernet for better more solid performance.
I also recommend the Fire tv debloat tool and the Wolf Launcher for best performance.
You can google any of that for help, instructions and visuals.

and this

and you're good to go. I have this setup on 9 different systems, all work flawlessly. Move all your apps to the disk (disk set up as extended internal storage) thus freeing up space and improving performance. The internet adapter you show has a limit as to the allowed speed (100).
This is the one I'm currently using and it has worked with every USB stick I've tried.
Google is your friend.
I use this type.
It works as you described. Plug the OTG adapter into the side of the Firestick. Plug the microUSB power cable into the OTG adapter. Connect your drive to the OTG adapter.
You will need a higher amperage power supply. The stock Firestick power block will not supply enough for a hard drive. Get a 2A or higher power supply. Even that may not power s portable USB. A desktop USB drive would be better. They have their own power supply. SSD and USB sticks use less power.

These are similar...why don't you have a try. You can return to Amazon if they don't work!
I use these with my Firesticks and it works fine. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TX8FY6W
