I'm looking on amazon and most basking platforms either look too small or are 'floating' which seems like the turtle would be too big and it would be hard to get onto? Is she likely sick now due to her poor living conditions? How close is too close for the heat lamps, and with the right bulbs is the fixture she has usable for now? is this an acceptable water heater, and if the ambient air temp is around 70 most of the time, and the thermostat is set at 65 at night, can I get by and buy it after my next payday 10 days from now?
Sorry for the barrage of questions I just want to get the turtle set up and healthy ASAP, and then work on happy as much as I can over time. I'm mostly concerned about getting the water clean, and a proper basking spot set up, then I'll check on things like diet, water treatments (if necessary) and accessories for enrichment.
Edit: I think I’m going to go to the local reptile specialty store tomorrow, when I asked for some advice on my ball python he gave me very detailed care instructions for bearded dragons which we had also discussed, and then realized he got mixed up and gave me equally passionate care instructions for my ball python, so I’m feeling he’ll be able to walk me around the store and show me on all his turtle tanks how it’s done with a good degree of attention and care
