Oh, hell yeah! I'm Eliza, and I've been lurking here for a bit just enjoying the threads - I suppose now is as good of a time as ever to come out of the woodwork.

Thinly Veiled is my first published work, but I've been writing for years. It's a relatively spicy blend of romantic comedy and suspense - if you're into that, do check it out! It's on sale for only 99 cents on Kindle until May 7, free on Kindle Unlimited until May 23, and available as a paperback. It's also a part of a series, which I'm planning on publishing the sequel to later this year. Find the description as well as some reviews of what other people are saying below.

Description:

The past haunts her, the present beguiles her…and the future is ready to bring her full circle.

Claire Branson just moved across state lines to Salem, Virginia—and she wants her life to go right for once, please and thank you. Having freshly escaped from a criminal past and the ex-boyfriend associated with it, she needs routine. Monotony. A happiness that could feel…simple.

Luke Turner is simple—sexy, sarcastically sweet, and, above all, radiating innocence. He could be her simplicity, there’s no doubt about that. But with Claire’s past festering under the gauze of her quick runaway, could he keep his innocence?

And, more importantly, will they get out of everything alive?

Reviews:

"Eliza Modiste's Thinly Veiled is a delightful romantic suspense comedy that stands out for its outstanding writing, compelling storyline, and well-crafted characters that come to life on the page." - 5 stars; Amazon Review

"This was such a great romance read. My emotions were all over the place, reading this suspenseful romance with great balance of romance, humor and danger. A captivating storyline that hooked me from the start and characters that are likeable and have great chemistry." - 5 stars; Goodreads Review

And, just for fun, because it can't be everyone's cup of tea, though I'm sure all of you may get a kick out of this:

"I was disappointed with the style of writing: six swear words in the first five pages; on page 11 they are talking about the bartender: “take the stick out of your ass, replace it with his cock” (not the last time for a comment like this), and countless times the use of the F-word." - 1 star; Goodreads Review

You can find my link above on the title (or below) if you're interested! If you like it and want to leave a review for a starving artist on Amazon or Goodreads, I'd love you forever. Also, I'm on other socials under the same user handle and love a good DM if any of you want to reach out (I don't bite - that much, anyway).
