If you have the cash to spare I would recommend going for the nova g3 because it's a lot easier to tighten than that barracuda. But I use the barracuda and it's been great so far. Faceplate wise I think any 1x8tpi would work from Amazon or a local wood turning store. I bought the harbor freight lathe tool set and I sort of regret it because I don't use most of them and they require constant sharpening. I'm slowly building my most used tools collection with Robert Sorby tools.
