I don't think it ever was. Get a Moto G4.
< $200?
Buy the brand new moto g4 from amazon $150 if you are a member of prime and are okay with ads (and a locked bootloader) or $199 if you are not a member of prime or don't want ads. The ads themselves aren't bad, generic Amazon nonsense from dash buttons to detergent. I dislike lock screens and the ads force you to use a lockscreen.

Have you considered the Amazon-Motorola Moto G with special offers?
It supports all the major LTE bands, and is a solid name-brand device for $129.
I bought the 16GB version back in June, when Amazon had it on sale for $125. it's been okay, but if it is hot outside, you use a case, and you play a CPU-intensive game for 20 minutes or so, and then want to shoot video, it may crash on you. happened more than once to me, and it wasn't even all that hot out, less than 90°F.
but for $125 phone, it's pretty good. it doesn't excel at anything, but it's not really terrible in any one area either. My biggest complaint is the battery life is not great. I am not a heavy user of the phone, maybe 20 minutes of games a day, 30 minutes of Bluetooth streaming music, typically no phone calls, a handful of text messages, and it can't make it from 0800 to 2200 before the battery gives out. My lower-end LG phone, which was cheaper at the time of purchase, still has better battery life with the same demands. I'm on T-Mobile, and their LTE coverage in my city, and especially my workplace, is iffy, so that may be part of the problem.
